When someone asks us to install a spa disconnect, we treat it the same way we treat every outdoor electrical job - the finished product has to be safe, code-compliant, and look like it belongs there. Sloppy conduit runs and loose fittings are not something we're willing to put our name on.
Here's what we were working with on this one - a 50A spa disconnect with multiple 240V circuits running along the exterior of the home. Outdoor work like this is where cutting corners really shows. Everything is exposed to the elements, visible from the patio, and subject to inspection. So we took the time to route the conduit cleanly along the wall, keep the lines straight, and secure everything properly along the way.
The disconnect box itself is mounted solid and level against the stucco. The conduit transitions follow the structure of the house - up the wall, across the soffit, and down the patio column. When you take the time to plan the route before you start drilling, you end up with runs that look intentional rather than thrown together.
A lot of homeowners don't realize how much the quality of the conduit work matters on an outdoor job. It affects longevity, inspection results, and honestly just the overall feel of your outdoor space. A well-done electrical installation should blend into the home - not stick out like an afterthought.
Whether you're adding a spa, a hot tub, or any other 240V outdoor circuit, the wiring behind it deserves the same attention as everything else on the property. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.
