When a new Hot Springs spa is going in, the electrical has to be right before anything else gets locked in. Landscaping, pavers, finishes - all of that comes after. If the conduit run ends up in the wrong spot, you're tearing everything back out. That's why we plan the routing carefully on the front end, every single time.

Here's what we were working with - a backyard that was still mid-build. Bare dirt, fresh travertine pavers going down, and a tight side-yard corridor to route through. We ran the conduit along the exterior wall, down through the side yard, and positioned the disconnect subpanel right where it needed to land for the spa hookup. Separate breakers for jets and heater, clearly labeled, clean metallic conduit secured flat against the stucco.

A 50-amp dedicated circuit is standard for most hot tub and spa installations. It's not something you want to share with other loads or improvise. The disconnect subpanel we installed gives the spa its own protected feed - and it puts future service access right there on the wall without any digging around.

We've done hundreds of spa installs, so we know how much easier everything gets when the electrical is coordinated before the patio work is finished. The conduit is already stubbed and buried under that dirt corridor - by the time landscaping goes in, there's nothing left to disturb. That's the whole point of getting the sequencing right.

Whether you're working with a brand new spa or adding a circuit to an existing backyard setup, the wiring side of it matters a lot more than most people realize. Bad placement, undersized wire, missing GFCI protection - these are the things that cause headaches down the road. We handle it correctly the first time so you don't have to think about it again.
