Bad bathroom lighting is one of those things people just learn to live with. Dim, flat, unflattering - it makes even a nice bathroom feel unfinished. This powder room had good bones - a beautiful arched mirror with a gold frame, granite countertops, the whole deal. But without proper lighting, none of it was landing the way it should.
We installed two 120V wall sconces on either side of the mirror, and the difference is immediate. Flanking a mirror with matched sconces is the right call for a space like this. You get even, balanced light that eliminates the shadowing you'd get from a single overhead fixture. It just works better.
The fixtures themselves are worth talking about. Brass hardware with ribbed green glass globes - they have a warm, almost vintage quality that plays really well against the gold mirror frame and the cool tones in the granite. When the lights are on, they cast this soft, textured glow across the wall that adds a ton of character to the room.
From a wiring standpoint, this is the kind of job that needs to be done right. Running 120V to two new wall positions means cutting into the wall, routing wire cleanly, and making sure everything is up to code - especially in a wet area like a bathroom. Doing it properly means no guesswork and no shortcuts.
Lighting installation and upgrades like this one are a big part of what we do. Whether you're updating a single fixture or rewiring a whole room, the goal is always the same - clean work that looks intentional and performs the way it should.
